21 August 20089.7/10Although LG is probably right that the Nyx is no iPhone killer (and we didn’t seriously expect it would be) the KU990 still has plenty to recommend it, producing images of better than average quality and providing advanced imaging capabilities including a digital stabiliser, video capture at 120 frames per second, and on-board video editing including audio dubbing and text overlay. If we had a dollar for every mobile phone that has masqueraded as a camera, we'd be rich enough to buy a top-of-the-range SLR. Year after year, the big players in the mobile phone industry enthusiastically talk up their latest hybrid hopeful, promising that time, it truly will deliver professional-level photographs. Unfortunately, the results are usually lacklustre at best, with the majority of models suitable for nothing more than a handful of grainy caller ID pics. Read more

5 September 20088.0/10For looks, style, technology and general usability this is a terrific phone. Using it has been a pleasure and has made my Christmas break that little bit more relaxing. Whilst it comes at a cost, the advantages far out weigh the disadvantages. I recommend this phone too all particularly those who send and receive emails regularly and are budding photographers like I have turned into. It also has a TV output connection which allows the user to connect to a TV to view video creations. The phone comes with 100 MB of internal memory and extendable memory with a MicroSD™ card option of up to 2 GB. Users may also access a XHTML browser for internet connection on the Viewty.
Features
The Viewty comes with a 5.1 megapixel digital camera with Schneider kreuznach lens, and features auto focus, image stabiliser and a xenon flash and has the option of camera or video settings. Video capabilities allow users to record video at 120 frames per second, edit and playback video footage. Video format supported are MPEG4, WMV, H.263 and H.264 with up to VGA 30 frames per second and QVGA 120 frames per second encoding. The phone has a built in music player (supporting MP3, AAC, AAC+, AAC++ AND WMA) and an FM radio with RDS. Messaging services include SMS, MMS message and email. 3G video call is also possible with compatible video calling capabilities. The Viewty comes with a second camera for video calling purposes and contacts can be viewed on the large colour touchscreen. One can view .txt, PDF, Word Doc, Powerpoint PPT and Excel XLS on the Viewty. It comes with a 1000 mAh Lithium-ion battery that gives up to 355 minutes of talktime/434 minutes of standby time for GSM, 233 minutes of talktime/454 hours of standby time on 3G, and 138 minutes on Video call.
