LG’s Optimus 3D combines a fast processor, Google’s Android operating system and technology for capturing photos and video in 3D and viewing them – without special eyewear – on its own 3D display. We can't actually photograph how the 3D jumps from the screen, but we can show you how two images blend (left) to form a 3D image (right). Read more

    • 3D camera provides good images in decent light, Feels sturdy and well made
    • 3D camera struggles in darker environments, No flash for 3D camera, Older version of Android OS, Onscreen keyboard could be better

The 3D gimmick works better than expected, but for a phone that promised world-beating performance, we did see more lag than we'd have liked, and it has average battery life to boot. Read more

    • 3D elements are better than we expected, Screen is bright with good viewing angles, Camera takes nice photos
    • Its design won't excite, Frequent minor processing and animation lag, 3D viewing angle is extremely acute

Verdict: Bigger than your average smartphone to go 3D, this phone takes great 3D stills, though we \Lhad trouble displaying them even \Lon LG’s own 3DTV. Read more

TV manufacturers have been pushing 3D technology for the past 12 months and now it seems the 3D world is being transferred to mobile phones, too. LG, a noted manufacturer of 3D TVs, has released the world's first 3D smartphone, the appropriately-named Optimus 3D. Although the 3D functionality of the phone is limited, the concept itself is well integrated. However, the Optimus 3D has mediocre battery life, and its chunky design will not suit all tastes. • 3D technology impressive, Fast and slick performance, Large screen
    • Mediocre battery life, Large and chunky design, Limited 3D content

Phone has great speed and beautiful looking screen even with its 800 x 480 resolution the vibrancy and clear text is nice. 3d display in hd is a first for glassless 3d technology. Great presentation. People sensitive to 3d imagery will perhaps decide to carry some anti nausea medication. Social is a great alternative to friend stream (HTC proprietary) with just as effective communication options and ease of use. Read more

    • Great phone and 3d control, flawless motion and speed
    • The battery life makes the desire HD look awesome.
