    There are two things you need to know about the Nokia E71 . They are: It’s sad that I describe a phone as fast simply because it responds the way you would expect: you press a key, and stuff happens. It’s not like most other smart phones in that respect. I’ve come to expect slow interfaces from these phones as a trade-off for advanced features in small packages. Read more

Nokia E71

The Nokia E71 is a Quadband phone operating on frequencies of 2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 or 3G Network HSDPA 2100 / 900. At 114 x 57 x 10 mm and weighing 127 grams, with screen size of 2.36 inches utilizing 320 x 240 pixels TFT at 16 M colours, the phone uses full QWERTY keyboard and a five-way scroll key. Ringtone types are Polyphonic, Monophonic, MP3, True Tones or customisable video ring tones with vibration. Internal memory capacity is approximately 110MB, with microSD card slot for extended memory of up to 8 GB. Data network employed are CSD, HSCSD, GPRS with 100/60 kbps (Download/Upload), EDGE with 296/177.6 kbps (DL/UL), WCDMA 900/2100 or 850/1900 or 850/2100, with 384/384 kbps (DL/UL), and 3G HSDPA at 3.6 Mbps/384 kbps (DL/UL). It is Bluetooth v2.0 supported and has an Infrared port.

Features

With SMS, MMS, Email, Instant Messaging, and web browsing WAP 2.0/xHTML, HTML, the Nokia E71 utilises two cameras, a 3.2 MP camera, with resolution at 2048 x 1536 pixels for still photos, CMOS sensor, 4 x digital zoom on auto focus. Video streaming on main camera is 15/20 frames per second (at 320x240), QVGA, whilst the secondary video call camera is up to 128 x 96 pixels (QCIF) at 15 fps, with 2 x digital video zoom. The Nokia E71 has an MP3 /AAC / MPEG4 player. Applications included are Quickoffice (Quickword, Quickpoint, Quicksheet), JavaTM MIDP 2.0, Flash Lite 3.0, Chat and instant messaging, Nokia browser, Dictionary, PDF Viewer, ZIP Manager, Download! (for adding more applications), FM radio, push to talk function, voice command/dial, PIM including calendar, to-do list and printing. The Nokia E71 also has built-in hands free. Standard battery included is a Nokia BP-4L Lithium-Polymer 1500 mAh providing talk time of up to 10 hours 30 minutes and stand-by time of up to 410 hours.
