Provided you don't need ultra-fast shooting speed or a tough chassis, the 60D is ideal for anyone looking for a video-enabled SLR. Just don't expect a true successor to the 50D. Read more

Until the arrival of the 7D this range of cameras was the best of Canon’s superior APS sensor cameras. The 60D is the new standard setter in this class of camera, competing head-on with the new Nikon D7000. The big question for happy owners of earlier models in the series will be: Should I trade up? It might depend on how much you want the movie facility. Read more

    • This is such a beautifully evolved camera series that there is not much to say other than “it’s just like the 50D only better.” Low light performance is brilliant. Aut...
    • Live view is still clunky and auto-focus in movie mode is still frustrating. The instruction book warns “continuous focus on a moving subject is not possible.”

A DSLR camera for photo enthusiasts who also want to be able to record Full HD video clips.Replacing the popular EOS 50D, Canon's new EOS 60D sits between the EOS 550D and EOS 7D and appears to have the same sensor as its 'siblings'. The company is clearly aiming this model at photo enthusiasts, adding some new features that will attract those upgrading from an entry-level DSLR or Advanced digicam, the most visible being a vari-angle LCD monitor. . . The Canon EOS 60D sits between the and the in Canon's mid-range digital SLR offerings, and it's a mighty beast to shoot with. It's fast, it has a vari-angle LCD screen, it can shoot high-definition video, and it has useful built-in image processing. If you're looking to upgrade from an entry-level digital SLR, or even if you're a current 50D user and don't want to move to a full-frame camera, you will definitely be pleased with the 60D; it's even a great, albeit less... And so it is with the EOS 60D that the company has once again hit the figurative nail on the proverbial head with its technology and design. In some ways, it has created a sub-category- the ‘Creative Prosumer’ range. In other words, not quite yet professional, but high enough up in the prosumer end to make people think they are almost pros. Read more

  1. Good in performance but not the best

In fact I read lot of reviews about Canon 60D before buying and even after buying this camera. Most of the users, they focused on picture quality. But I really want to focus on build quality. and in fact it is a downgrade version from Canon 50D or 40D. But the canon 60D has more ISO, more megapixel and a good video like HD shooting facilities. But the problem is setting buttons (Multi control button) are not really comfortable. Read more

Moving up a notch from my old Kiss X3, I can say that my choice of selecting the 60D has been made with absolutely no regrets. This is an excellent fully featured camera which - as stated in the review - shares many of the features offered in the 7D. It is ideal for those who have become acquainted with the DSLR world but not fully fluent or confident in the use and operation of the more professional 7D and above models. Read more
