    What a great MP3 player. For so many years Sony bestrode the portable audio world like a colossus, and it was a shock to witness how quickly the company fell behind when music became conveyed in bits and bytes instead of on tapes and discs. I had just returned from a month-long trip checking out the top technology at IFA in Berlin and the World Expo in Shanghai when I heard that I had become editor of Tone. Read more
