My version of Adam Jensen, protagonist of Deus Ex: Human Revolution , practised Batman's brand of pacifism. Shattered elbow joints, enough brain trauma for hours of unconsciousness, even getting squashed by an industrial freezer; it's all dandy as long as the innocent security guard is technically drawing mostly air into most of his lungs. On the PC, load times are quicker (thanks to a recent patch). The controls are slightly more precise, the graphics slightly tidier. The inventory system suits a mouse, the terminals and passwords benefit from the keyboard. None of these are big items, and none of them enhance the experience significantly. However, those spoilt for choice will discover the PC version offers just enough minor enhancements and advantages to be the preferred option. Read more

An earth-shattering adventure that both "rivets and amazes" (Michael Wilmington, Chicago Tribune), reunites superstar Tom Cruise and Academy Award-winning director Steven Spielberg for one of the most awe-inspiring cinematic experiences of all time! A contemporary retelling of H.G.Wells classic, the sci-fi thriller reveals the extraordinary battle for the future of humankind through the eyes of one American family. Read more

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is a successful prequel to the brilliant original game. The story can be a little uninspiring at times and the game world occasionally tends towards lifelessness, but the intrigue of the plot is compelling. Read more

Is Deus Ex awesome? Absolutely. Is it a giant leap in design? No, and how could it be? With other games offering multiple story paths and upgradeable characters Deus Ex no longer stands alone in its field, and it’s not perfect by any means. But, with the mix of different choices, multiple paths and wholly addictive game play mechanics it's hard to put down. Read more

    • Addictive stealth challenge, Multiple paths and exploration, More creative secondary missions
    • Intrusive tutorial system, Adam talks like Christian Bale Batman, Story tries to be too clever and too Dan Brown
