Few games require little introduction as Killzone 3 does. It’s predecessor on the same platform was widely accepted as one of the stand out performers of the generation to date. When it came to graphics, gameplay, audio and multiplayer action it had few peers. Even over a year on it’s one of the show piece titles on the PS3. You’d be forgiven for assuming that Killzone 3 is considerably better in every way… well, it is! Read more

Extremely highly recommended and, despite its somewhat lacking imagination or ability to drive the genre forward from a gameplay perspective, it’s the peak of current action-oriented shooters - period. Four and a half stars. Read more

The bottom line is that while it offers veteran FPS players nothing new, Killzone 3 does boast some of the best console FPS graphics yet, and very slick gameplay to go along with it. Lack of innovation and the horrible story aside, it’s an outstanding release that all PS3 owners should get their hands on as a matter of priority. Read more

Closing Comments Along with its fun multiplayer, Killzone 3 is so enjoyable because it’s not just a shooter, it’s an experience. Guerilla has crafted scene after gorgeous scene that made me feel like you’re a part of a brutal, human war that is somehow fantastic in setting but also eerily reminiscent of the wars we see on TV. Combine this with the superb pacing and you have a campaign that’s totally fun despite its boring characters and uninspired story. Read more
