I wanted more. I expected more. Should we be worrying about the franchise now that Microsoft have released the epic Forza 3 ? GT5 doesn't arrive til early next year, and that's a long time for fans to mull over the fact that the Portable version they've been dreaming about since 2004 actually turned out to be more of a nightmare. I think now more than ever the devs need to produce winner. Read more

Ultimately, this is Gran Turismo, and the PSP version is a legit release that’s a must have for PSP owning petrol-heads. There’s a ton of cars to collect and a whole lot of track to race them on. Sure, the lack of online support is disappointing, but if you call yourself a Gran Turismo fan then GT5 will no doubt satiate all your online multiplayer urges. Read more

Polyphony Digitals pedigree is undeniable. Gran Tursimo is arguably the most identifiable and popular Playstation game across almost all of Sony consoles to date. The original Gran Turismo was recognized as revolutionising the racing game genre and even I have to admit, it was the main contributing factor in getting me involved and passionate about console gaming. Therefore it was safe to assume I was eagerly anticipating the release of Gran Turismo PSP. Read more

It's been a long time in the coming, but Gran Turismo for the PSP is finally here, not so coincidentally launching on the same day as the PSPgo. The numbers are great, particularly for a PSP title, with it featuring some 800 cars, 35 tracks and 60 track variations (meaning forward and reverse on most of the tracks), and all while running at 60fps. Closing Comments Being that I'm such a massive fan of the Gran Turismo franchise, I'm having a hard time coming to grips with the fact that this isn't a great (or even just good) game. It pains me to say so, but it's the truth. While the driving mechanics are great, if somewhat dated, the numerous presentation issues (like the complete lack of a career mode) really keep this from being what it could, and should, have been. IGN review says you cannot upgrade the cars, and it sounds as though it's basically the arcade mode with 800 cars. Thats a shame because the biggest fun to be had without doubt in Gran Turismo was the ability to take a piece of junk and turn it into a 400kph monster. Read more
