Birth By Sleep is an epic PSP title that provides an excellent (if a little belated) entry point for the series. The original Kingdom Hearts was a bit convoluted for the uninitiated (like myself) and Birth By Sleep has piqued my interest in all things Square Enix once again. Read more

Fortunately, great care was taken with each familiar environment. A few of them are on the bland side, but most capture the spirit of the film that inspired them. You meet Snow White in a field drenched in sunlight; Cinderella's pumpkin carriage is as magical as you remember. Every character looks perfectly parallel to the animated forms that graced the silver screen, so you immediately understand and empathize with them. Read more

    • Combat is fun and flashy, and it evolves as you play, Boss fights put a fun spin on Disney characters and sets, Great visuals capture the spirit of the source material...
    • Camera can be a nuisance, A lot of repetition, from environments to music, Terra's voice acting is abysmal, Long load times and frame rate drops.

The Latest Kingdom Hearts offers simplistic combat, lavish cut scenes, and substantial play-time, and there is a hard-core of Square fans that will lap all this up. If you are not a member of this fanatical hard core, then only emptiness and repetition await. Read more

    • Above-average graphics, slick interface, Lashings of Disney fan-service, Evocative voice acting, provocative character designs
    • Simplistic, repetitive action, Meandering, sappy, meaningless story, Cut scenes that make Metal Gear Solid seem curt in comparison, The usual Square fruitiness

Despite my misgivings, it is a solid title that only suffers (as many do) from the limitations of the PSP. There's a fair bit to nitpick but enough of the game makes you ignore what are momentary annoyances to push past and enjoy the familiarity of Disney and an old-fashioned thrill in beating down the baddies. Pros Bright, cheery graphics, Disney characters galore, brilliant settings and atmosphere, reasonably engaging characters. Read more

    • Loading times, tricksy camera, not so much a portable game, repetitive encounters.

So, we all know by now that Kingdom Hearts is an experiment that should never have worked. We mean, come on. Mickey Mouse fighting alongside Squall Leonheart? Donald Duck and Goofy participating in an Action RPG as party members? Suspiciously homosexual overtones between members of an almost entirely male organisation in a game with Disney branding? But, work it did. And sell it did. Read more

The begining of it all, play as either Ventus, Aqua and terra, all three characters have their own storyline. Go back in time, and see how the story began............. Absolutely an awsome game, for all gamers out there. Read more
