Project Zero 2 review

  • Excerpt: Project Zero 2 is a remake of a game that came out 10 years ago. It's conceptually strong but it's held down by a number of shortcomings.
  • Pros: Unique concept. Great horror theme and visuals. Chilling audio and voices through the Wii Remote.
  • Cons: Slow Story. Slow Gameplay. Slow characters. Average voice acting. Minimal sense of achievement. Second player gaming seems like an afterthought.

Mario Party 9 review

  • Excerpt: The latest iteration in the long-running Mario Party series is a capable title, and manages to use the eponymous hero to deliver a great family adventure.
  • Pros: This feels like a genuine Mario game with platforming and boss battles. Motion controls have been wisely supressed.
  • Cons: Not the overhaul many were hoping for, but a good start. Being at the mercy of the dice can still bruise egos.

Pandora's Tower review

  • Excerpt: If this game is meant to be of one the last hurrahs before the Wii U becomes the main power player, Nintendo have gone about it all wrong. Pandora’s Tower drags with its story, doesn’t impress with its gameplay and really feels like a couple of better games smashed together.
  • Pros: Good use of the Wii Remote and Nunchuck. Race against the clock can be challenging at times.
  • Cons: Overall repetition. Lack of originality and depth. Less than average voice acting.

Beat the Beat: Rhythm Paradise review

  • Summary: Beat the Beat: Rhythm Paradise pitches itself as a quirky entry into the rhythm genre, but it quickly becomes monotonous. Extremely simple gameplay, a control system that doesn't take advantage of the Wii's point of difference, and a limit of only two players all come together to beg the question:...
  • Pros: Challenging gameplay. Bright, friendly visuals
  • Cons: Monotonous. Only two players. Disgraceful misuse of the Wii Remote.
