Removing my sarcasm hat, Sid Meier’s Pirates! is still the quality game that it’s always been in all of its guises. When I first started to play this game I was very excited and would have given it a 9-9.5 out of 10 more on nostalgia value than anything. But with the mini games becoming tiresome so quickly and the load times between mini games it takes away from the enjoyment, hence my final score of 7.5 out of 10. Read more
Another great chapter in this Caribbean saga which must be as close to Sid Meier's original concept for the game as it is possible to get. The feel of Pirates is much slicker than it's PC relation (and I loved that). The speed of the game play forces quicker decison making whether in the thrust, parry and taunts of sword fighting or when in the governor's parlour as you attempt to charm the bodice off his daughter with your debonair dance steps.
