Almost every facet of this game has been improved over the previous ones – unfortunately the annoying ‘enemies only focus on my character and ignore my AI squadmates’ problem is still rampant – but I will definitely finish this one. It’s a stunning piece of work. Five stars. Read more

October was the beginning of a crazy couple of months of gaming, Gears of War 3 pretty much led the charge and became the title of choice for that moment. The game was a fitting and quite often breathtaking finale to the trilogy. Of course the adventures of Marcus may have understandably fallen by the wayside in lieu of Battlefield, Skyrim, Assassins Creed and many others currently demanding our time. Read more

A curiously sleeveless yet monumentally awesome capstone of an incredible trilogy, this game demands to be played and replayed, at least until the new trilogy kicks off on whatever hardware Xbox replace the 360 with. The best shooter available on console right now, Gears 3 is an experience not to be missed. Read more

Playing cooperatively and upping the difficulty level can make replay somewhat enticing, but it won't take you more than three hours to see all that RAAM's Shadow has to offer. It's good, Gears-y fun with a novel kick, but with the new series standard that was set by Gears of War 3, it's hard not to be let down by the forgettable new characters and uneven pacing. Read more

    • Playing as RAAM provides some gruesome thrills, Series' signature combat is in fine form.
    • Locust levels present little challenge or diversity, Human characters aren't very appealing, Slow sections diminish excitement.

Gears 3 is filled with plenty of wow moments not just visually but also in how the story is driven to its climatic conclusion. It's more deftly handled than previous Gears where there was often some confusion with key elements and this time around events unfold smoothly. It's a relief then that the gameplay effectively drives you through the story rather than just sticking with it to get the ending. Read more

    • New weapons and enemy types, Amazingly crafted story, Game play mechanics as smooth as ever, Larger, more interesting environments, Minimal gopher activity
    • Minor technical issues, Is it really over?

A 'Must Buy' Game, the campaign may take up to 15-20 hours to complete depending on the difficulty and the new features such as the 'Horde Mode 2.0' and 'Beast Mode' will keep you entertained. The multiplayer has been tweaked and will surely satisfy your needs. This is unlike the previous two games' multiplayer which was quite unsuccessful. Read more
