All cynicism aside, it does actually have a really good storyline and narrative. It’s a pretty decent game, it’d just be a lot better if it was an FPS and didn’t treat its players like idiots. The fact the first game in the series was a lot better than this – and that was on PlayStation 2 – says a lot, in my book. Two stars. Read more

I sat down to start writing this review early on Queens Birthday and as anyone in Canterbury will know we were hit by some pretty serious aftershocks that day. So after comforting the family, cleaning up the house, and local businesses, here I am after several stiff drinks trying to get my thoughts back in line to write this review. Read more

One sign of a great game is when you never notice it's repetitive. Anyone can be reductive and distill a game down to a few key mechanics that are repeated, but it's up to the level design, enemy A.I., and a host of other factors to keep it interesting from start to finish. Red Faction: Armageddon has successes and failures at this, with pacing issues and levels that swing from super exciting to downright boring. Read more

As settlements are torn asunder, only Darius and the Red Faction can save mankind. Read more

Path to War also comes with a handful of new achievements, but it's easy to get them all on your first and only playthrough. Completing the four missions and exhausting everything this add-on has to offer takes only about an hour, and it's a shame that so much of it is dedicated to lackluster vehicle sequences rather than the explosive core action. The new weapons provide some entertainment, but like everything else in Path to War, it's short-lived. Read more

    • Shard gun fuels some destructive fun.
    • It's only an hour long, Vehicle sections blunt the explosive excitement, Can't use new guns in other modes.

If its anything like the first red faction you will not be disappointed. From the video it looks like a similar game type but improved but better graphics and new soundtrack. Read more
